A Year I’ll Never Forget: A Wedding Photography Year in Review

As I look back over the last year, it’s hard to put into words just how much it’s meant to me - both professionally and personally. From emotional “I do’s” to unexpected milestones in my business, this season has been one I’ll carry with me forever. Here’s a little insight into why this year has been so special.

Weddings That Felt Like One Big Family

From my very first wedding of the year to the final celebration, one of the most rewarding parts was seeing past, present, and even future couples attending each other’s weddings. There’s something incredibly special about watching those connections grow and being trusted to document so many intertwined stories.

Creating Instant Memories on the Big Day

Introducing instant photography into my wedding coverage has been a game changer. Using my trusty Kodak camera, I’ve loved creating tangible memories for couples on the spot. The reactions—laughter, happy tears, total surprise - have been unforgettable and added another layer of joy to each wedding day.

A Moment on the Mic

Being invited to appear on the I Do & Up Dos wedding industry podcast felt like a huge milestone for my business. Sharing my journey, experiences, and passion for wedding photography with others in the industry was both humbling and exciting.

Awards, Recognition & Gratitude

This year also brought some incredible recognition. Winning a wedding industry photography award - and being a finalist in three others - was genuinely mind-blowing. On top of that, receiving thoughtful (and very personal… okay, inside joke level!) thank-you gifts from couples reminded me why I love what I do so much.

The Power of Collaboration

I had the privilege of working alongside some truly talented suppliers and incredible fellow wedding photographers. Collaborating with like-minded creatives who care deeply about their couples made every wedding even more enjoyable.

Growth Beyond Expectations

Being fully booked for September 2026 still feels surreal. The growth I’ve experienced over the past 18 months has been nothing short of incredible, and I’m so grateful to every couple who’s trusted me with their day.

Recommended at Incredible Venues

Another huge highlight was becoming a recommended supplier at four amazing wedding venues. It’s an honour to be trusted by venues that share the same values and commitment to unforgettable wedding experiences.

Loving Every Moment (Even the Chaos)

Whether it was bumping into old work colleagues at weddings or getting caught mid-laugh on the dance floor, this year reminded me just how much fun my job really is. I genuinely love being part of such joyful celebrations.

Balance Beyond the Camera

Despite the busy schedule, I’ve still made time for family, my wife, and life outside of weddings. From holidays to trips to London (including seeing the brilliant Morgan Jay), that balance has been essential and grounding.

Looking Ahead

This year has been fun, busy, rewarding, and freeing. Every moment has been a reminder of why I chose this path - USB box supplier dramas aside! I’m endlessly grateful for the couples, venues, and creatives who made it all possible.

Here’s to everything still to come. Roll on 2026.
