Holly and Alex’s wedding at Sandy Cove Hotel was colourful from the word go. Bright florals, bold styling, loads of personality, and a couple who clearly wanted the day to feel fun rather than overly polished. I loved how much thought had gone into all the little details, because every corner seemed to have something going on.
And then you add the setting... Sandy Cove Hotel in North Devon already gives you those big sea views and that coastal backdrop, so pairing that with all the colour made the whole gallery feel really vibrant. It was one of those weddings where the venue and the styling worked together perfectly.

A Morning Full of Colour and Personality
The details set the tone early on. From the accessories to the florals, there was colour everywhere, and it all felt very Holly and Alex. I always enjoy photographing mornings like this because the little things actually tell you something about the couple rather than just looking pretty. You could already tell this was going to be a fun day, and by the time everyone was ready, the whole place had that proper wedding buzz about it.

The ceremony at Sandy Cove Hotel had that brilliant mix of colour, sea views and relaxed energy. The outdoor setting works so well for weddings here because you get the coastline right behind everything without needing to do much to the space itself. Holly and Alex looked so happy standing there together, surrounded by all their favourite people. With the bright florals framing them and the Devon coast in the background, it made for such a memorable ceremony setup.
Decor That Completely Filled the Day With Colour
This wedding really committed to the colour, and I loved that. The florals, signage, ceremony styling and little decorative touches all worked together without feeling too matchy. At a venue like Sandy Cove Hotel, where you already have lots of natural blues and greens from the sea and gardens, the brighter colours really stood out.

One of my favourite things about Sandy Cove Hotel wedding photography is the variety you can get without taking the couple far from their guests. We used the gardens, the paths around the venue, and of course those brilliant coastal views for Holly and Alex’s portraits. They were so relaxed together, which made everything easy. The combination of soft greenery, sea views, and all that colour from the bouquet gave the portraits such a summery feel.
TikToks, Fizz and a Proper Party
By the evening, things had definitely loosened up. There were TikToks being made, fizz being drunk straight from the bottle, and a dance floor that looked like it was only getting more lively. That energy suited the rest of the day perfectly. Nothing felt too serious, and everyone seemed completely up for having a good time. I always love weddings where the evening feels like a natural continuation of the couple’s personality, and this one absolutely did.
A Bright Day Over Sandy Cove Hotel
The aerial photo really shows just how good Sandy Cove Hotel looked for Holly and Alex’s wedding. With the sun out, the gardens full of guests, and the sea stretching out behind the venue, the whole place felt bright, colourful, and completely alive. I love how this view captures more than just the setting, because you can actually see the wedding happening within it, with everyone gathered together and making the most of such a sunny day on the North Devon coast.
