The bride and groom share a kiss beneath a canopy of trees at Dillington Estate, framed by rustic wooden fencing and soft natural light. Her flowing white gown and bouquet stand out beautifully against the earthy tones of the countryside path.

Some weddings just stick with you. Louise & Christian’s day at Dillington Estate was packed with everything I love to photograph: golden-hour fields, cowboy boots, singing in Te Reo Māori, and 110 handwritten notes to every guest. It was personal, heartfelt, and full of joy from start to finish.

So when I found out it had been featured on Rock My Wedding, I was genuinely chuffed. It’s a platform I’ve followed for years and one I really respect for celebrating weddings that feel true to the couple. I’ve also been a supplier on their directory for equally as long a time and get some fab weddings come from it. Being included on this feature means so much, not just as a photographer, but as someone who really values what goes into days like this.

A Wedding Full of Meaning and Magic

Louise and Christian share their first kiss as husband and wife inside the warm glow of Dillington Estate’s historic church. With golden stone walls, red drapes, and stained-glass windows behind them, the moment feels timeless and full of reverence.
The newlyweds walk joyfully out of the church at Dillington Estate as guests toss white confetti into the air. The bride beams while holding her bouquet, and the groom smiles proudly, surrounded by laughter and celebration in the summer light.

Louise & Christian brought together their two worlds, New Zealand and the UK, and filled the day with touches that felt completely their own. From singing and speeches to a hog roast and handwritten love notes, everything had an intention behind it. They walked out into the fields at golden hour as the sun broke through a stormy sky, with friends cheering from the fenceline and drinks in hand.

There were cowboy boots, bunting, horse tubs as drink stations, and one of the warmest atmospheres I’ve ever had the joy of photographing. It was relaxed, playful, emotional, and totally unforgettable.

Country Chic Wedding Celebration At Dillington Estate

What Makes a Feature-Worthy Wedding?

Louise and Christian stand hand in hand on the stone steps outside the historic church at Dillington Estate. Surrounded by rustic brick walls and greenery, they share a quiet, joyful moment framed by timeless architecture and soft natural light.

For me, it’s not about trends or perfection… it’s about personality. Louise & Christian’s wedding was a great example of what happens when couples just do things their way. You could feel the energy shift as guests leaned into every moment, from the emotional church service to the rowdy golden-hour cheering in the fields.

Weddings like this remind me why I do what I do. There’s nothing better than capturing people having the time of their lives.

Louise and Christian share an intimate moment in the tall grass at Dillington Estate, their foreheads touching as golden sunlight catches the edges of her gown. The scene feels calm, romantic, and full of soft summer warmth.

I’ve shot at Dillington Estate a few times now, and it never disappoints. The venue offers such a beautiful mix of rustic and refined, with loads of space to move and natural light that changes beautifully throughout the day. That field during golden hour really is something else, a dream for any photographer.

Working with a Team That Gets It

From the venue staff to the family and friends helping behind the scenes, you could feel how much love went into this day. I’m always grateful when the energy between the team and the couple just clicks. Everyone was pulling in the same direction, and it made for such a smooth, joyful atmosphere all the way through.
