Stockbridge Farm Barn Wedding Photography - Maisie & Andrew
It’s not every day the bride arrives early for the ceremony… but then again, Maisie is a teacher, so I really should’ve seen it coming. From that moment on, I had a feeling this was going to be a well-planned, joy-filled kind of day, and it absolutely was.
Stockbridge Farm Barn really came into its own for their day. Tucked in the Dorset countryside with warm stone walls, timber beams and autumn leaves just starting to fall, the barn looked magic. It was the perfect setting for a day that felt full of love, laughter and a whole lot of personality.
From a gift handed to me during the speeches (yep, seriously - so kind!) to Maisie absolutely rocking a pair of white Dr. Martens under her dress, this wedding had character in all the right ways.
Timed to Perfection
Maisie and Andrew’s day ran like clockwork, which made it such a joy to photograph. The morning had that calm, excited buzz as everyone got ready, and not once did it feel rushed or stressful. And yes... Maisie was actually early to the ceremony, which might just be a wedding first for me. Every part of the day was so well-paced, allowing time for real moments to happen without pressure.
A Ceremony Full of Feeling
Their ceremony struck that perfect balance of heartfelt and light. There were laughs, a few happy tears, and the kind of warmth that made the whole barn feel close-knit and full of support. You could tell their guests were genuinely invested in the moment, and seeing Maisie and Andrew beam at each other throughout made it all the more special.
Autumn Hues and Barn Views
The barn and surrounding grounds gave us some gorgeous spots for portraits, with the leaves turning amber and gold around them. Maisie and Andrew looked right at home, stealing a few quiet moments together while the world carried on just out of frame. The textures of the barn doors, the stone paths and the crunch of leaves underfoot gave everything a cosy, seasonal feel.
A Surprise Mention (and a Thoughtful Gift)
One of the moments that really stood out to me was during the speeches when I got a shoutout... and a gift. Honestly, I was a bit taken aback, in the best way. It’s rare to be on the receiving end during a wedding, and it meant a lot. It says everything about the kind of couple Maisie and Andrew are thoughtful, kind and full of heart.
Pizza, Cake and a Packed Dance Floor
The evening celebrations were full-on in the best way. Guests enjoyed delicious wood-fired pizzas and a towering cake, while live music from The Thrillionaires kicked things off properly. Once the dance floor opened, that was it, game over. From the first dance to the last tune, the barn was alive with dancing, singing and plenty of balloon-fuelled chaos. Proper wedding party energy.
Maisie & Andrew, thank you again…
For letting me be part of such a fun, thoughtful and genuinely warm day. Between the early ceremony, the gift during speeches and your iconic Docs (which are 100% in the running for best wedding shoes of the year). I won’t be forgetting this one anytime soon.
