A collage celebrating four years of Just James Weddings, featuring James smiling with his cameras and surrounded by candid wedding moments, joyful couples, emotional ceremonies, and fun portraits that highlight his journey as a wedding photographer.

Four years ago, I photographed my very first five weddings. I was just starting out, learning as I went, and hoping that one day this little business would find its feet. Fast forward to now and I’m heading into next year with 40 weddings booked and nearly 100 celebrations photographed in total. I honestly couldn’t have imagined this when I first picked up my camera.

One thing I’m really proud of is how much the business has grown organically. I used to rely heavily on adverts to attract couples, but now I don’t need them at all. In fact, 37 percent of my bookings now come from recommendations alone, which means the world to me. Knowing that couples are passing my name on because of their experience is one of the biggest compliments I could ever receive.

It’s been a huge year, so I wanted to take a moment to reflect, share some highlights, and say a massive thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way.

This Year’s Been One to Remember

It’s easy to get caught up in the next thing, but looking back at 2024, I’m genuinely proud of what’s happened. A few big milestones have made this year stand out in the best possible way.

  • Featured on a Wedding Podcast

Earlier this year, I was invited on the I Do & Updos podcast to chat all things wedding photography. We talked about drone shots, my editing approach, and what it’s like to capture real, candid moments. It was such a fun conversation, and being asked to take part was a reminder of how far the business has come.

  • Recommended by Four Brilliant Venues

This year, I also became a recommended supplier at four incredible venues… something that means a lot to me both professionally and personally.

  • Sandy Cove Hotel - A stunning seaside venue in North Devon where every golden hour feels like a movie scene.

  • The Cider Barn at Dillington Estate - One of my absolute favourite Somerset spots, full of rustic charm and good energy.

  • No.4 Clifton Village - A beautifully styled Bristol gem that makes intimate weddings feel extra special.

  • Glastonbury Wedding & Events Venue - With wide open countryside views and space to make the day truly yours.

Being recommended by venues like these tells me that how I work, not just the photos, but how I show up and support the day, is making an impact. It’s something I’m really grateful for.

Nearing 100 Weddings Photographed

I’m not far off reaching the 100-wedding milestone, which still blows my mind. Every single one has been different, and I’ve learned something new from each one. Whether it’s a tiny elopement or a big celebration, I still feel the same buzz picking up my camera.

Hitched Wedding Awards Winner 2025

Just James Weddings was named a Hitched Wedding Awards Winner for 2025, and that recognition means so much. It’s based on real reviews from real couples, and knowing that my clients felt cared for and happy with their experience is everything to me.

Finalist at Two Industry Awards

This year, I was also a finalist at both:

  • The South West Wedding Awards - Finalist in 2024 and again for 2025

  • The Wedding Industry Awards 2025 - Nationally recognised, which still feels a bit surreal

I never started this business thinking about awards, but being recognised alongside some of the best in the industry is a real honour.

Celebrating Love in All Forms

I photographed three inclusive LGBTQ+ weddings, and each one was filled with so much joy, emotion, and personality. It means a lot to me that couples feel safe, seen, and celebrated when they book with me. Love is love, and I’ll always be here to photograph it exactly as it is.

First 2026 Destination Wedding Booked - Mauritius

And now, something completely new, I’ve booked my very first destination wedding for next year... in Mauritius! I’ve always dreamed of taking Just James Weddings international, and I honestly can’t wait to capture such a big day in such a beautiful setting. Bring on the palm trees, soft sunsets, and tropical golden hours.

A Big Thank You!

To every couple who’s trusted me to capture their day, every supplier I’ve worked alongside, and every friend, family member and fellow creative who’s encouraged me… thank you. None of this would be possible without the people who’ve supported this business and believed in it, even when I was just getting started.

Here’s to the next chapter, the next weddings, and everything still to come.
