Clevedon Hall Wedding Photography - Caitlin & Kevin
Caitlin and Kevin’s wedding at Clevedon Hall had such a lovely atmosphere from the minute I arrived. Everyone was incredibly welcoming, there was loads of happiness around the place, and you could tell how much thought had gone into making the day feel personal to them. It was also one of those weddings where there always seemed to be something happening, from handmade stationery and plenty of emotion to a magician leaving Kevin genuinely speechless. And yes, Caitlin, apparently you’ve married an Ironman. No pressure there.
Clevedon Hall itself gave us such a brilliant backdrop throughout the day. It’s a beautiful Somerset wedding venue with grand architecture, landscaped grounds and loads of different spaces to photograph without needing to take the couple away from their guests for ages. For Clevedon Hall wedding photography, there is plenty of variety both inside and outside, which suited Caitlin and Kevin’s day perfectly.

A Lovely Start With Everyone Around Them
The early part of the day already had that warm, family-and-friends feel that carried through everything afterwards. Caitlin was surrounded by the people closest to her, while Kevin and the lads brought plenty of laughs on their side too. I really enjoyed photographing those little interactions before the ceremony, because they give you a good sense of the people behind the wedding before all the bigger moments begin.
There were thoughtful details dotted around too, including stationery created by one of Caitlin’s bridesmaids. I always love seeing something handmade by somebody close to the couple because it immediately gives those details a bit more meaning.
Plenty of Happiness at Their Clevedon Hall Ceremony
Caitlin and Kevin’s ceremony took place outside at Clevedon Hall, and it suited the day beautifully. Surrounded by the grounds and all their favourite people, they looked completely at ease once they were standing together. There were smiles everywhere, a few emotional moments, and that lovely burst of excitement once they were officially married.
I really liked how the outdoor setting opened everything up and gave the ceremony such a relaxed feel. With the hall behind them and the gardens around them, it made for a brilliant backdrop while still keeping all the attention on Caitlin, Kevin, and the people sharing the moment with them.
Confetti, Gardens and Clevedon Hall Portraits
Once everyone was outside, it was time for one of my favourite bits, the confetti. Caitlin and Kevin had a proper crowd around them, which made for loads of brilliant reactions and a suitably big welcome into married life.
We also took some time for couple portraits around the grounds of Clevedon Hall in Somerset. The gardens, pathways, stonework and the hall itself gave us plenty of options, so we could keep things relaxed and move around without turning the portraits into a huge production. Caitlin and Kevin were so comfortable together, and that always makes my job much easier.
Personal Touches and a Magician Who Left Kevin Speechless
There were so many little bits throughout the day that gave the wedding its own personality. The handmade stationery was one, but Darren Campbell Magician definitely deserves a mention too. Kevin’s reaction was brilliant.
For somebody who had managed an Ironman, apparently a magician was the thing capable of stopping him in his tracks. Moments like that are always great to photograph because you’re getting completely genuine reactions rather than anything staged, and everyone around him was loving it too.
Speeches, Laughter and a Proper Celebration
The speeches carried on that mix of sentiment and fun. There were plenty of laughs, lovely reactions around the room and moments where you could see exactly how much Caitlin and Kevin mean to the people around them. I always enjoy photographing speeches because half of the story is happening away from whoever has the microphone.
From there, the wedding moved properly into celebration mode. With Stereo Bloom, Booth Nineteen and everyone clearly ready for a good night, the atmosphere only got livelier. By the time the dance floor got going, there was no shortage of people throwing themselves into it.
What Caitlin & Kevin Said About Their Wedding Photography
One thing I was really pleased to hear afterwards was how much the engagement shoot helped Caitlin and Kevin feel more comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding.
They also had around 130 guests, so having a second photographer there made a real difference in being able to cover more of what was happening throughout the day without pulling them away from it.
After their wedding at Clevedon Hall, Caitlin shared:
“The engagement shoot was so worth it, it broke any camera awkwardness and made the day even better. He also recommended a second photographer which was a great decision with 130 guests!”
It was also lovely to hear that their guests enjoyed having us around. For me, that is always a big part of photographing a wedding well. I want the photographs to be brilliant, of course, but I also want everyone to feel comfortable enough that the camera never becomes the focus of the day.
Conclusion
Caitlin and Kevin’s Clevedon Hall wedding was such an enjoyable day to be part of. It had so much sentiment behind it, but there was loads of fun too, from the handmade details and magician to the confetti and the party later on. More than anything, Lee and I were made to feel incredibly welcome by everyone, and I left feeling very grateful that Sarah had helped give us the opportunity to photograph it.
Thank you both for trusting us with the day. Huge congratulations again, and I really hope our paths cross again sometime.
