Chloe and Armani’s wedding at The Barn at Upcote was such a brilliant one to photograph. It was hot, very hot in fact, but the whole day ran so smoothly that everyone could just relax and enjoy it. From the moment I arrived, there was loads happening, plenty of emotion, and so many little moments that made the day feel personal to them.

I also loved how much variety The Barn at Upcote gave us throughout the day. The stone barns, gardens, pond and surrounding Gloucestershire countryside all gave us something different to work with, while the spaces still felt close enough that the day flowed naturally. Add in a fast car, ladybirds appearing around Chloe, and a packed schedule that somehow never felt rushed, and it made for a very memorable Cotswolds barn wedding as a Cotswolds Wedding Photographer.

A Wedding Day That Ran Like Clockwork

The organisation behind this day was spot on. Even with the heat, everything stayed on time, and no one seemed flustered, which gave Kien and me plenty of space to capture what was happening without constantly chasing the next part of the schedule. I always notice the difference when a day has been planned well, because the couple and their guests can actually enjoy it. Armani’s arrival in the car gave the morning an extra bit of excitement and made for some brilliant photographs before the ceremony began.

A Happy Barn Ceremony and a Stylish Getaway

The ceremony at The Barn at Upcote felt warm, intimate and full of genuine reactions. Chloe and Armani looked so happy standing together, and you could see how much the moment meant to everyone watching. There were smiles, happy tears and plenty of laughter throughout the day, and I even found myself having a little sob during the speeches later on. After the ceremony, the car appeared again as the newlyweds drove away together, giving them a proper just-married moment and adding another personal touch to their wedding.

One of the loveliest little details was the number of ladybirds that seemed to follow Chloe around. They kept appearing throughout the wedding, which felt especially meaningful and gave the day another personal layer. It is the sort of thing you could never plan, but everyone notices when it happens. Whether you believe in signs or not, it really did feel as though someone was keeping a close eye on her.

Pond-Side Portraits and Countryside Light at The Barn at Upcote

The grounds around The Barn at Upcote gave us some gorgeous options for couple portraits. We used the gardens, the pond and the open fields around the venue, making the most of the softer light later in the day. Chloe and Armani were brilliant in front of the camera and looked completely comfortable together, which meant the portraits felt natural rather than overly directed. The long grass and evening sunlight created some of my favourite images from their gallery.

Live Music, Emotional Speeches and a Proper Celebration

It was brilliant to see so much emotion, laughter and love continue throughout the reception. The speeches were particularly heartfelt, and I’ll admit that even I had a little sob while listening to them. With live music, illustrations, games and the photo booth keeping guests entertained, the celebration had loads going on before the evening moved into full party mode.

Golden Hour in the Gloucestershire Countryside Fields

Just when the light began to soften, we headed back outside for a final set of portraits in the fields around The Barn at Upcote. The low sunlight lit up the long grass beautifully and gave Chloe and Armani a warm, summery backdrop that looked completely different from the earlier pond and garden photographs. It felt like a proper bonus at the end of an already brilliant day, and those golden-hour images became some of my favourites from their wedding gallery.

Conclusion

Chloe and Armani’s Barn at Upcote wedding had everything I enjoy photographing. It was well planned, full of emotion, packed with personality and set at a brilliant Gloucestershire barn wedding venue. From the ladybirds and the fast car to the quieter portraits by the pond, there were so many moments that felt theirs completely.
