Dovecote Events Wedding Photography - Harriet & Simon
Seeing Harriet and Simon again at Dovecote Events felt less like arriving at a completely new wedding and more like picking up where we’d left off a few weeks earlier. I’d already photographed their legal wedding, so walking in and seeing so many familiar faces again was genuinely lovely. This time, though, they had the full celebration waiting for them, and what a day it turned into.
The forecast had been keeping everyone guessing, but thankfully the weather improved and gave them plenty of time to enjoy everything Dovecote Events in Oxfordshire has to offer. From the rustic barn and the tipi to the open fields surrounding the venue, the whole setting worked so well for their relaxed celebration. There was honestly so much to photograph that fitting the highlights into one post felt almost impossible.
Picking Up the Celebrations With Familiar Faces
One of my favourite things about this wedding was already knowing Harriet, Simon and quite a few of their guests. Having photographed their legal ceremony a few weeks earlier, it felt really nice to come back for round two and see everyone ready for the bigger celebration.
That familiarity made the whole day feel easy from the start. I could get straight into photographing the little interactions, laughs and reunions without needing much of an introduction, and there were loads of those moments throughout the day.
A Celebrant-Led Ceremony at Dovecote Events
Harriet and Simon’s ceremony had a really relaxed feel to it, led by Natalie Wrench Celebrant and surrounded by all the people who had come to celebrate properly with them this time around. They looked so happy standing together, and the reactions from everyone around them made it even better to photograph.
The ceremony space at Dovecote Events suited that atmosphere perfectly. The barn has loads of character, with timber beams and a countryside feel that gives the ceremony a strong setting without taking over from what is actually happening between the couple.
A Barn, a Tipi and Plenty of Oxfordshire Countryside
One of the things that stood out to me about Dovecote Events wedding photography was just how much variety there was across the venue. You have the rustic barn, the tipi area and then open countryside almost immediately around you, so the gallery never feels stuck in one setting.
Harriet and Simon made the most of all of it. Guests could move between the different areas throughout the day, and it gave everything a relaxed, festival-style feel while still keeping everyone together. For couples looking for a tipi wedding venue in Oxfordshire, Dovecote Events gives you a really nice balance between countryside space and proper wedding facilities.
Portraits Across the Fields at Dovecote Events
Once we had a little breathing room, we headed out around the grounds for some portraits. The fields surrounding Dovecote Events gave Harriet and Simon loads of space to just walk, chat and enjoy a few minutes together away from the main celebration.
I really liked how relaxed those photos felt. There was no need to overcomplicate anything because the countryside setting was already doing plenty for us. A few walks, a bit of good light and two people who were clearly very happy to be there together was more than enough.
From Live Music to a Very Lively Tipi
As the day moved towards the evening, the atmosphere only got bigger. Live music from Georgia Clementine Music gave the earlier celebrations such a lovely soundtrack, before Smooth Moves Events helped move things firmly into party territory later on.
The tipi looked brilliant once everyone was inside and the dancing got going. From the photos, you can see just how much energy there was in the room, with arms in the air, people singing along and absolutely no shortage of guests ready to get involved. It felt like the perfect finish to what had already been such a full day.
Conclusion
Harriet and Simon’s Dovecote Events wedding was such a brilliant second chapter to photograph after their legal ceremony. Seeing familiar faces again made the whole thing feel even more personal, and the venue gave us so much variety throughout the day, from the barn ceremony to the fields, tipi and evening party.
Thank you both for trusting me to come along for both parts of your wedding story. I’m really glad the weather behaved better than expected, and even happier that I got to be there for the bigger celebration. Massive congratulations again to you both.
