Hencote Estate Wedding Photography - Lydia & Kieran
Lydia and Kieran’s wedding at Hencote Estate was one of those days where the weather really showed up. It was properly hot, the kind of heat where everyone was keeping an eye on the sun and making the most of every bit of shade, but it gave the whole day this bright, summery energy from start to finish. Set high above the Shropshire countryside, Hencote Estate looked incredible and gave the day that lovely sense of space, with views rolling right out behind the venue.
It was also just a really fun wedding to be part of. Great people, loads of energy, and one of those crowds where you could tell everyone was genuinely happy to be there. I also got to work with Red Letter Films again, which is always a good time, and it was lovely meeting Cat too, whose planning and support made the whole day feel smooth and easy for all of us working behind the scenes. And of course, Bowen deserves a mention too.
The Morning Buzz Before It All Began
The day started with a really lovely atmosphere around Lydia. I used one of the newspaper shots and the bridesmaids’ moments from the morning as a reminder of how much excitement there was right from the beginning. It felt like everyone was buzzing, but in that nice, steady way where the build-up is part of the fun. I always like wedding mornings that feel like this because they set the tone for everything that follows, and at Hencote Estate, there was already such a good feeling in the air.
A Smooth Start Thanks to Great Planning
The getting-ready part of the day had that perfect mix of calm and momentum. Lydia looked incredible once she was dressed, and Kieran’s side of things had that quieter, slightly more candid energy that always photographs really well too. One thing that really helped the whole day flow was the planning behind it all. Cat’s support throughout the day made a real difference, not just for Lydia and Kieran, but for us as suppliers as well, and that always shows in how relaxed everything feels.
Lydia’s Smile Lit Up Every Part of the Day
Lydia genuinely lit up the whole day. Some brides smile now and then, but hers was there all day long, and it completely changed the feel of every moment she was in. Whether it was during the ceremony, with guests, or later on outside, she just looked so happy to be marrying Kieran. It made the whole wedding feel even warmer, and honestly, that kind of joy is such a gift to photograph.
Hencote Estate at Its Best in the Evening Light
With a day that hot, I had high hopes for the evening light, and thankfully it really delivered. The grounds at Hencote Estate are brilliant for couple portraits because you get that open sky, the long views, and enough room to let the couple just breathe for a minute. Lydia and Kieran looked so natural together out there, and those golden hour portraits ended up being some of my favourites from the whole day. When a Hencote Estate wedding gets weather like that, it really shows off what the venue can do.
A Day With So Much Fun Built Into It
One of the best things about this wedding was how much fun everyone clearly had. The bridal party brought loads of energy, and that carried right through the rest of the day. From the group photos to the laughs with friends, to the way the evening was building when I left, it all felt full of life. Weddings like this are always a joy to photograph because the fun is not forced… it is just there.
Final Thoughts
Lydia and Kieran’s Hencote Estate wedding was such a brilliant one to photograph. It had sunshine, great people, a venue that looked fantastic all day, and a couple who made everything feel easy to capture. From the excitement of the morning to Lydia’s smile all day long, to those golden hour portraits in Shropshire, it really was such a good day to be part of. Massive congratulations again to Lydia, Kieran, and of course, Bowen too. I hope Florida is amazing!
