The 19th-century country house gives weddings a really useful mix of elegant interiors and open outdoor space. Inside, the large windows and historic rooms bring plenty of natural light into the day, while outside there are lawns, terraces, mature trees and wide countryside views that work beautifully for relaxed photographs.
I’ve photographed two full weddings here so far: Lucy and Jay, and Rhiannon and Anthony. Those days have given me experience of Eastwood Park across different seasons, weather and styles of celebration, from autumn colour and family-focused moments to evening fireworks appearing unexpectedly across the Vale.
That familiarity means I understand how the house and grounds work throughout a real wedding day, where guests naturally gather and how to use the countryside without keeping couples away from everyone for long.
My approach is relaxed, natural and documentary-led, with direction when it helps and plenty of space for the wedding to unfold naturally.

A Country House Wedding Venue in South Gloucestershire
Eastwood Park has the scale of a large country house without making the wedding feel disconnected.
The main reception rooms sit close together, while the Terrace opens directly onto the grounds and panoramic views across the Berkeley Vale. That means guests can move easily between the ceremony, drinks, wedding breakfast and evening celebration without spending the day travelling around the estate.
The wider grounds bring a completely different feel to the gallery.
Closer to the house, the architecture, ivy-covered walls and landscaped areas create more structured portraits. Further out, the lawns and countryside open up into wider Gloucestershire views.
That variety means there is no need to leave the venue for photographs.
Wedding Ceremonies at Eastwood Park
Eastwood Park is licensed for civil ceremonies and offers both indoor and outdoor options.
Ceremonies in the Drawing Room
The Drawing Room is the venue’s most popular ceremony space and currently accommodates up to around 100 guests.
Its floor-to-ceiling windows bring in plenty of natural light, with views towards the Berkeley Vale on one side and the surrounding grounds on the other.
For photography, this gives the ceremony a bright and open feel while still keeping everyone close enough for guests’ reactions to become an important part of the gallery.
The size of the room also allows me to photograph the entrance, vows and first kiss from different positions without constantly moving through the ceremony.
Ceremonies in Eastwood Terrace
For larger celebrations, Eastwood Terrace can also be used for civil ceremonies.
It is the largest function room at the venue and has its own bar, large windows and direct access onto the terrace outside.
The extra space makes it particularly useful for couples with a fuller guest list while still keeping the ceremony connected to the rest of the wedding day.
Photographically, the larger room gives me room to work unobtrusively while keeping the focus on the couple and guests rather than on the scale of the space.
Outdoor Ceremonies
Eastwood Park also offers outdoor ceremonies with the Berkeley Vale forming part of the backdrop.
The open setting creates a much softer feel than the indoor rooms and leads naturally into drinks on the terrace afterwards.
As with any outdoor ceremony, the exact setup will depend on the weather, so couples should confirm current wet-weather plans directly with the venue.
Drinks Receptions on the Terrace
The terrace is one of the areas that helps Eastwood Park flow particularly well after the ceremony.
It opens directly from the main reception spaces and overlooks the countryside, so guests can step outside for drinks and congratulations without becoming disconnected from the rest of the venue.
This is usually a brilliant point in the day for documentary photography.

Having photographed two weddings here, I know we do not need to spend ages moving around every part of the grounds.
A short walk using the areas that look best in the weather and light is usually enough to create plenty of variety.
Couple Photographs Around the Grounds
Eastwood Park works well for couple portraits because the grounds offer several different looks within easy reach of the celebration.
Close to the house, the ivy-covered walls, pathways and historic exterior can create a more elegant country-house feel.
Further into the grounds, the photographs become softer and more open, with trees, lawns and the Berkeley Vale stretching away behind you.
Lucy and Jay’s autumn wedding showed how much the venue can change with the season. The ivy and surrounding foliage brought warmer colours into their portraits, while Rhiannon and Anthony’s wedding made more use of the open lawns and wider landscape.
I’ll give you enough direction to feel comfortable, but the aim is still for this to feel like a short walk together rather than a formal portrait session.
Golden-Hour and Evening Photography
Eastwood Park works well for couple portraits because the grounds offer several different looks within easy reach of the celebration.
The wide views around Eastwood Park can work beautifully later in the day.
Because the house overlooks the Berkeley Vale, the evening sky can become a big part of the photographs once the stronger daytime light begins to soften.
I do not fix a long golden-hour session into the timeline.
Instead, I keep an eye on the conditions throughout the reception. If the light starts looking particularly good, we can step outside for ten or fifteen minutes before heading straight back to the celebration.
And sometimes you get something you could never plan.
At Rhiannon and Anthony’s wedding, fireworks from another celebration appeared unexpectedly in the distance. It was a completely random moment, but those are often the things that make a wedding gallery feel personal rather than predictable.
Wedding Breakfasts and Evening Celebrations
Eastwood Terrace is the main reception room for larger wedding breakfasts.
The venue currently accommodates around 120 guests here for dinner, with its own bar and direct access onto the outdoor terrace.
During speeches, I’m not only photographing whoever has the microphone.
I’m watching the couple and guests around the room for reactions: someone laughing before the punchline, a parent becoming emotional or friends recognising exactly where a story is heading.
Later, the room can accommodate a much larger evening celebration.
The current venue information lists capacity of up to around 200 guests in Eastwood Terrace, while other wedding packages may allow larger numbers depending on the setup, so couples should confirm their final evening numbers directly with Eastwood Park.
What Happens if It Rains?
Eastwood Park has enough indoor space that poor weather does not suddenly limit the wedding.
The Drawing Room, Eastwood Terrace and Study all have their own character, and the venue’s main function spaces are on the ground floor with plenty of natural light.
That means the ceremony, drinks, family interactions and reception can all continue comfortably indoors if needed.
When the weather improves, the terrace and lawns are immediately outside.
We do not need an hour of sunshine to create outdoor portraits. A short break in the rain can be enough for a few photographs before everyone returns inside.
My approach is always to adapt around the conditions rather than let the forecast control the wedding.

People can settle into the venue before the celebration, enjoy the evening without immediately thinking about taxis and meet again the following morning.
The venue is also close to the M5 and has parking for up to around 200 cars, making it fairly straightforward for guests arriving by road.

How I Photograph Weddings at Eastwood Park
My approach is relaxed, natural, candid and documentary-led.
Having photographed Lucy and Jay and Rhiannon and Anthony here has shown me how differently Eastwood Park can feel depending on the wedding.
One day might be full of autumn colour, jokes and personality. Another might be centred around family, surprise cars and a random firework display appearing across the Vale.
That is why I do not approach the venue with a fixed list of photographs I need to recreate every time.
I’ll organise family photographs efficiently and give some simple direction during couple portraits, but for the majority of the day I’m watching what is already happening.
Eastwood Park gives the gallery the setting. The couple and their guests are what make each wedding look different.
