I’m genuinely so proud to share that Just James Weddings has won a Business Award for Wedding Services in Somerset with Business Awards UK.

This one feels a little different. I’ve been lucky enough to receive recognition within the wedding industry before, but being recognised in the wider business world is something I’m really proud of. It’s a reminder that Just James Weddings is not just about taking photos…it’s about building a business with care, consistency, trust, and a genuine love for what I do.

After nearly five years of photographing weddings, working with incredible couples, travelling to beautiful venues, and constantly trying to improve what I offer, this award means a lot.

A Business Award for Wedding Services in Somerset

Winning a Wedding Services Business Award in Somerset is a huge honour. Somerset is such a brilliant place to work as a wedding photographer, with everything from rustic barns and countryside estates to coastal venues and intimate celebrations.

I’ve always loved being part of the wedding world here. The venues, suppliers, couples, and creative community make it such a special industry to be involved in. To have Just James Weddings recognised as part of that wider Somerset business landscape feels like a real milestone.

It’s not just about the photos you see online. Behind the scenes, there’s a lot that goes into running a wedding photography business properly, from communication and planning to editing, delivery, client experience, and building relationships with venues and suppliers.

More Than Just Wedding Photography

For me, wedding photography has always been about more than turning up on the day with a camera. It’s about helping couples feel comfortable, being someone they can trust, and capturing their wedding in a way that feels honest and true to them.

That means being calm when timelines shift, organised when the day gets busy, and present enough to notice the little moments that couples might miss. The hugs, the nervous laughs, the quick glances, the dance floor chaos, the quiet bits in between.

This award feels like recognition of all of that, not just the final gallery, but the whole experience couples have with Just James Weddings.

Nearly Five Years of Graft

It’s wild to think that Just James Weddings has been going for almost five years now. What started as a small wedding photography business has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of.

There have been long days, late nights, thousands of miles travelled, full memory cards, busy editing seasons, and plenty of moments where I’ve had to learn as I go. But I still love it.

Every wedding teaches me something new. Every couple brings a different story. Every year pushes me to get better, not just as a photographer, but as a business owner too.

Thank You to Every Couple Who Has Trusted Me

This award would not exist without the couples who have trusted me with one of the biggest days of their lives.

To every couple who has booked me, reviewed me, recommended me, shared my work, or simply sent a kind message after receiving their gallery, thank you. Your support is what keeps this business moving forward.

I’m always grateful when couples choose me, especially when there are so many brilliant wedding photographers out there. To know that people continue to trust Just James Weddings with their memories means everything.

Thank You to the Wedding Industry Around Me

I also want to say a massive thank you to the suppliers, venues, planners, videographers, florists, makeup artists, caterers, DJs, and everyone else I’ve worked alongside over the years.

Weddings are never a one-person job. They happen because a whole team of people works together to make the day feel smooth, joyful, and memorable.

Being recognised for wedding services in Somerset feels even more special because I know how many brilliant people make this industry what it is. I’m proud to be part of it.

What This Means Going Forward

Awards are lovely, and I’m definitely looking forward to finding a spot for the trophy in the office, but the real motivation is to keep going.

  • To keep improving.

  • To keep showing up properly.

  • To keep giving couples a wedding photography experience that feels relaxed, personal, and full of care.

This Business Award is a lovely reminder of how far Just James Weddings has come, but it also makes me excited for what’s next.

A Final Thank You

So, thank you again to Business Awards UK for this recognition, and thank you to everyone who continues to support Just James Weddings.

Nearly five years in, I’m still just as excited to photograph weddings, meet new couples, and tell real stories through natural, heartfelt photography.

Here’s to the next chapter, and to many more beautiful wedding days still to come.

Looking for an award-winning Somerset wedding photographer who cares about the full experience, not just the final photos?

I’d love to hear about your wedding plans and help capture your day in a way that feels natural, relaxed, and true to you.
